L-3 Communications (formerly Litton Industries) Radar Magnetrons TSO Certified - Eliminates Concern Over Aircraft Eligibility

L-3 Communications of Williamsport, Pa. has received re-certification on all of its airborne weather radar magnetrons under TSO-C63C. Prior to this all L-3 Communications' magnetrons were certified under Parts Manufacturers Approval (PMA). The new TSO certification eliminates the concern over aircraft eligibility. Each magnetron will contain a FAA-certified TSO label. TSO-C63C is listed under FAA certification notice PA-4023. A copy is included with each magnetron and it is advisable to file this document for future reference.
